Boyes Opens in Market Harborough Creating 20 Jobs

Twenty new jobs have been created in Market Harborough with the opening of a new discount department store in the town centre.

National retailer Boyes has launched in the former Wilko unit at St Mary’s Place, which has stood empty for over two years.

The opening follows a major refurbishment of the long-vacant premises, including new retail space on the upper floor.

The family-run business, which operates more than 80 stores across the UK, has taken on a number of former Wilko sites nationwide following the collapse of the high street chain in 2023.

Boyes is known for its traditional department store-style layout, offering a wide range of goods from homeware and clothing to DIY, cleaning products, crafts and seasonal items, with around 35,000 products in stock.
