Scouts Help Brighten Market Harborough with Utility Cabinet Clean-Up

Scouts and other volunteers turned out in force to paint utility cabinets across Market Harborough.

The work formed part of the ‘Clean Up, Colour Up’ project, which aims to brighten up neglected utility boxes around the town, many of which had become covered in graffiti tags.

Virgin Media supplied the green paint used on its cabinets, and organisers say more artistic designs are planned for some of the boxes later this year.

The project is being supported by 3rd Market Harborough Scouts, Harborough District Council, Rotaract Market Harborough, the Harborough Green Party and the South Leicestershire Litter Wombles.

Andy Reeves from the South Leicestershire Litter Wombles, who is helping lead the initiative, spoke to HFM:
