Supporters Thanked After Marathon Run Raises £10,000

A Market Harborough man who completed the London Marathon despite suffering an early injury is thanking people for their support after raising £10,000 for a cause close to his heart.

Ben Jelley, who dyed his hair pink for the event in support of baby loss charity Tommy’s, ran in memory of his wife Charlotte, who died aged 32 from a pregnancy-related blood clot, shortly after the loss of their premature son Arthur in 2024.

Ben was joined by family friend Emily Mayhew, who also ran the marathon for the same cause.

He pulled his calf within minutes of starting but was determined to complete the race, saying seeing his daughter Elsa Joy on the final straight made it all worthwhile.

He finished the challenge in just over six hours and has thanked everyone who sponsored the pair and supported a big fundraising raffle for Tommy’s:
