Market Harborough Sweet Shop Goes Viral on TikTok

Written by on 20th February 2026

Market Harborough sweet shop Randalls has become a TikTok sensation, racking up over 7.8 million views worldwide.

The viral moment came from a behind-the-counter video showing a customer buying a huge £270 pick-and-mix order – while his children looked on in amazement.

Shop owner Jarrod Burke filmed Leicester business owner Alister de Ternant ordering seven bespoke jars of old-fashioned sweets for his staff at events agency AE (Associate Events) in Leicester.

Since the clip went live on Saturday, Randalls has been flooded with new customers, international orders and social media followers, keeping the close-knit five-person team — including Jarrod’s fiancée, Amritha Chagar — extremely busy.

This customer spent £270 on one order!? 😱 What a crazy day this was. Along with being one of the busiest weekend of the year, we had a huge order for 9 x 3kg traditional pick and mix jars in our Market Harborough shop! 🍬 We are so grateful for everyone’s support! Let us know where in the world you are watching from and what your favourite sweets are in the comments👇 #supportsmallbusiness #pov #sweetshop #traditionalsweets #povstyle

It was the biggest in-person purchase ever at the Adam and Eve Street store and Jarrod spoke to HFM about the extraordinary week:

Randalls in Market Harborough

Alister de Ternant said: “At AE we boost morale by thinking of new and innovative ways to support colleagues – and Randalls offered a tasty opportunity to do this. It’s astonishing that our order has sparked this international attention, but we can absolutely vouch for the scrumptious quality and variety at Randalls. We’ll be back!”
