Warning After Parked Vehicles Block Fire Engine

Drivers are being urged to park considerately after a fire engine was blocked from reaching an emergency in Little Bowden.

Firefighters had to knock on doors in Bellfields Street to ask residents to move their vehicles, while on their way to help paramedics gain entry to a property in the early hours of yesterday.

A spokesperson for Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Vehicle owners should ensure they do not park in a way that could obstruct emergency vehicles, as in an emergency, every second counts.”
