MP Thanks Market Harborough Posties For Christmas Efforts

Harborough’s MP has praised postal workers for their efforts during the busy Christmas period.

Neil O’Brien met posties before they set off on their morning delivery rounds after visiting the Market Harborough Royal Mail Delivery Office this week.

The visit comes as Royal Mail enters its busiest time of year, with thousands of items passing through the Riverside base each day in the run-up to Christmas.

Neil also spoke to Customer Operations Manager Paul Smith and said: “It was lovely to visit the Market Harborough Delivery Office and see first-hand how things operate during the Christmas rush.

“This is a critical time for deliveries, but the team had everything well organised despite the huge increase in parcels and cards.

“It was also useful to speak to the manager, Paul, about how the office is preparing for the planned changes to Second Class deliveries due to come in from next spring.

“Everyone works incredibly hard at this time of year, and I’d like to thank them for the service they provide to our community.”
