Flood Alert For Welland Valley

A flood alert has been issued for the Welland Valley following heavy rain overnight and over the past few days.

The Environment Agency says low-lying land, roads, and pathways near the River Welland around Market Harborough, and the River Jordan in the Braybrooke and Little Bowden areas, may be affected.

Residents are urged to take care and avoid walking, cycling, or driving through floodwater, and to steer clear of low-lying roads near rivers.

Forecasters say flooding to properties is not expected, so no flood warnings are likely to be issued.
