Approval For Second Phase Of Symington Building Restoration

Work on the next phase of major renovations at Market Harborough’s historic Symington Building has been approved.

The project, which will follow on-going work to repair the roof, masonry and windows at the front of the building, will cover the remainder of the site on Adam and Eve Street.

Harborough District Council says the second stage will cost just over £1m, with work set to start next spring and be finished by October.

The former corset factory is the council’s headquarters and is also home to Harborough Museum, the town’s library, job centre and Citizens Advice centre, a coffee shop and an ice cream parlour.
