Shoplifter Jailed After Assaulting Staff & Police Officer

A man who assaulted supermarket staff and a police officer after stealing from Sainsbury’s in Market Harborough has been jailed for over seven months.
Jack Pearson was caught taking four cans of beer last Saturday afternoon and carried out the assaults when he was detained.
The 21-year-old, of Bridge Road in Desborough, admitted theft, two counts of common assault, and assaulting an emergency worker when he appeared at Leicester Magistrates’ Court.
He was jailed for just 31 weeks.
