Permanent Paving Finally Reinstated In Church Square

The pavement in part of Market Harborough town centre has finally been restored after temporary repairs were branded an eye-sore.

Nearly a year after tarmac patches were put down in Church Square, new paving slabs have been laid, bringing the area back in line with the rest of the town centre.

The pavement has been fully restored

National Grid Electricity Distribution blamed delays in sourcing the York stone slabs for the work not being carried out sooner.

It was forced to remove previous slabs while carrying out emergency repair work.

County councillor Sarah Hill pushed the company on the issue, including writing to its Chief Executive and has welcomed the work being completed:
