Talented Knitters Create Special Flag

A team of talented knitters in Market Harborough have created a giant St George’s flag to support the England Women’s Rugby team during the World Cup.
It features hundreds of red roses crocheted by members of the Crochet and Chat group based at Harborough Market.

The England team is known as the ‘Red Roses’ and the group wanted to especially cheer them on as some games are taking place at the Northampton Saints stadium.
England will play Samoa at Franklin’s Gardens tomorrow.
The flag has been placed above the entrance to the Market Hall in St Mary’s Place and a competition is to be run to guess the number of roses on it, to support the LOROS Hospice.
