Person Dies After Being Hit By Train

A person has died after being hit by a train near Great Bowden.

Emergency services were called to reports of a casualty on the tracks off Main Street yesterday afternoon.

A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: “Officers were called at around 2.40pm to reports of a casualty on the tracks near Market Harborough railway station.

“Officers responded with paramedics, however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.

“The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
