Car Park Wall Collapses After Crash

Part of a car park wall in Market Harborough has collapsed after a driver crashed into it.

The incident showered the road and pavement on Bowden Lane with bricks and masonry, but luckily no-one was injured.

The crash near the EV charging points in the Doddridge Road car park happened yesterday.

Part of the pavement has been cordoned off as staff from Harborough District Council’s Quick Response Team work to clear the debris.

Cllr Darren Woodiwiss, Cabinet lead for Car Parking, said: “The area has been cleared and made safe and the car park is open as usual.

“Use of the EV charging bays may be affected for a short period of time once rebuilding works start.”
