Prolific Shoplifter Jailed

A prolific thief who stole goods worth over £4,000 from shops in and around Market Harborough has been jailed for eight months.

Dion Robinson admitted 27 offences – the majority of which were committed in the last three months – when he was sentenced at Leicester Magistrates’ Court.

Robinson stole from shops in Market Harborough & elsewhere

The 34-year-old stole items including alcohol, meat, chocolate and cat food from stores in Market Harborough, Kibworth, Great Glen, Houghton on the Hill, Scraptoft, and Wigston, including Co-Op, Sainsbury’s and Tesco.

Robinson, formally of London Road, Leicester, was arrested following an investigation by Leicestershire Police’s ‘Op Detect’ team, which is dedicated to targeting repeat shoplifters.

He has also been handed a Criminal Behaviour Order.
