Man Jailed After A427 Crash Remains On-The-Run

A man jailed for causing the death of his girlfriend in a crash near Market Harborough remains on the run – five weeks after absconding from an open prison.

Police are continuing to appeal for information about the whereabouts of Steven Gaskell, who walked out on HMP Sudbury in Derbyshire on June 20th.

The 32-year-old was serving a sentence of just over five years for causing death by driving whilst disqualified, after Courtney Donnelly, 23, from Corby, died in the crash on the A427 in Brampton Ash in September 2023.

She was a passenger is a Mini car that left the road and came to rest in a field.

Gaskell has links to Northamptonshire, Leicestershire and Rutland and Derbyshire Police continue to appeal for information about his whereabouts.

He only has one eye and is described as being about 6ft 3in tall (1.9m), with blonde hair and a blonde/ginger beard.
