Park Tennis Courts Set For £80k Re-Vamp

Tennis courts in Market Harborough’s Welland Park are set to be resurfaced and updated thanks to a grant of over £80,000

It has been offered to Harborough District Council by the Lawn Tennis Association, as part of ‘The Park Tennis Project,’ which is aimed at getting more people playing.

The plan also includes installing a gate access system to the courts and introducing a new booking system.

Although use of the public courts will remain free-of-charge, the council says a booking system will allow more ‘structured use’ and hopefully increased participation.

Member of the council’s Cabinet will be asked to formally accept the grant funding of £81,717 at a meeting next week.
