Petrol Stations Impacted After Refinery Administration

Deliveries of fuel to some petrol stations in and around Market Harborough have been affected after one of Britain’s largest oil refineries collapsed into administration.
Hundreds of jobs are at risk at State Oil – the parent company of Prax Group – at the Lindsey works in North Lincolnshire.
The forecourt at the Co-Op filling station on Coventry Road is closed, although the shop remains open:
Pumps also ran dry at the Sainsbury’s petrol station on Springfield Street yesterday, but it is now open again after fuel stocks were replenished.
A Sainsbury’s spokesperson said: “The petrol station at our Market Harborough store was temporarily closed on Monday evening and reopened again this morning.
“We are sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.”
The Government’s called for an urgent investigation into the collapse of State Oil, as a liquidator is appointed.
