New Uses Considered For Park’s Former Bowls Area

Plans are being drawn up for potential new uses for the disused bowling green and bowls pavilion in Market Harborough’s Welland Park.

The area has stood vacant since 2021 when the bowling club closed due to declining membership.

Harborough District Council say a number of suggestions have been put forward, including turning the area into a community growing space or a place for groups to meet and community events to be held.

A feasibility study is being carried out to identify the range of options and associated costs.
