Work to lay power cables to the site of a new prison near Market Harborough is expected to be finished by the end of this month.
The scheme on the A4304 began in January and has caused delays for drivers, with temporary traffic lights in place on stretches of the road between Market Harborough and Lubenham.

A spokesperson for National Grid said: “The cable installation is expected to be finished by 30 May.
“The completion date was moved back to the end of the month as excavation has been challenging in some areas.
“We’d like to thank motorists for their patience as we complete the works and continue to work closely with the local authority to minimise disruption to the local community.”
Work has also taken place on Foxton Road in Lubenham, as cables are laid to the site of the new prison adjacent to HMP Gartree.
