Major Search Of Gartree Prison

Specialist sniffer dogs were used during a major search of Gartree Prison.

The operation took place at 4.30am yesterday, as part of efforts to find contraband items such as drugs and weapons.

A large number of prison officers gathered in car park outside before entering the prison near Market Harborough.

The Prison Service has described the action as a ‘routine search’.
