Charity Appeals For More Male Volunteers

A Market Harborough charity supporting families with young children needs more men to join its dedicated team of volunteers.

Home-Start South Leicestershire provides vital help to families facing difficulties as new parents, or with complex situations in their lives ranging from financial crises, isolation and loneliness, managing mental or physical ill health and living with disabilities and long-term conditions.

The charity is running a training course for new recruits from later this month and is appealing for men to sign-up.

Volunteers only need to be able to give-up a couple of hours a week to do things like going for a play in the park with the children, helping the family get out to the library or be a listening ear to a parent feeling stressed.
