Leicestershire Police is experiencing technical issues with its telephone system.
All lines were down for a time yesterday afternoon, meaning emergency calls had to be diverted to the Northamptonshire force.
Problems persist this morning and although calls can be answered again, people are being urged to report non-emergency incidents online or via social media platform.

An update from the force reads: “We are still currently experiencing issues with our telephony system.
“We are able to take 999 calls, please continue to call 999 in an emergency.
“101 calls are also being answered however there may be a delay. Where possible, please try to report non-emergency incidents online via our website or our social media platforms.
“Thank you for your patience.”
