Greggs Set To Open New Store

Greggs is set to open a new store in Market Harborough.

The bakery and hot food chain is being lined-up to move into new premises on Welland Business Park.

Plans to build a food outlet on the estate were approved last year and a revised proposal has now been submitted to Harborough District Council, detailing Greggs will operate the facility.

How the new Greggs will look if the plan is approved

A document included in the planning application reads: “Since this approval, an operator has been secured and the amended scheme is submitted to accommodate minor changes to the building, an accurate description of its use and the intended operating hours.

“The operator could occupy the building under the current permission; however, the changes are required to allow the business to operate in line with their existing business model.”

The new store is earmarked for the part of the business park fronting Rockingham Road and would be open between 6am and 8pm Monday to Saturday and from 6am and 6pm on Sundays and Bank Holidays, if the plan is approved.

Owners of the business park say the new eatery is aimed at providing employees of the wider site with a more accessible lunchtime option, as there are currently very limited facilities available without the use of a car to travel elsewhere.
