A new electric vehicle charging hub is to be installed in the Commons Car Park in Market Harborough.
Planning permission has been granted for the facility, which will provide 12 7kW charging points and be located in the northern part of the car park, opposite the Co-Op store.

The hub will have a solar panel canopy and battery storage system to help create the electricity needed.
Harborough District Council is behind the project which is part of wider £2m scheme to set-up more publicly available charging points across Leicestershire, with the help of government funding.
The council says it cannot say when the facility will be installed, as it still has to go through a procurement process.
