Man Arrested After Lorry Crash

A man has been arrested after a crash involving a lorry near South Kilworth.

The vehicle left Walcote Road and came to rest in a ditch just after 5.15am.

Leicestershire Police say the driver was taken to hospital with injuries not believed to be life threatening or life changing and no other vehicles were involved.

A spokesperson added: “A 41-year-old man from Derbyshire has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving and possession of cannabis and remains in custody as our investigation continues.”

Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service also attended the incident and contacted the Environment Agency, due to a diesel leak.

The road remains closed.
