It has seen pupil numbers at Wellington Place increase from 17 to nearly 200, after it opened last year to a reception class only, meaning some classrooms were empty.
The additional Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6 children and staff are travelling by bus to and from the school each day and pupils at Wellington Place formed a guard of honour to welcome their arrival.
