A driver was trapped in the cab of a lorry after it overturned on the B6047 near Market Harborough this morning.

Emergency services were called to Melton Road near Shangton just after 10.15am.

Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service sent crews from Market Harborough and Wigston Fire and Rescue Station, plus its Technical Rescue team.

A spokesperson told HFM: “One person was trapped inside, they were safely assisted out of the vehicle by our crews and seen to by our East Midlands Ambulance Service colleagues.

“No other vehicles were involved in the incident.”

Leicestershire Police say the driver did not suffer life-threatening or life-changing injuries and no-one has been arrested.

The road remains closed in both directions between Tur Langton and Three Gates Road, to allow for the recovery of the lorry.
