Burglars Target Market Harborough Coffee Shop
Written by HFM News on 22nd December 2024
Owners of a Market Harborough coffee shop are counting the cost of a burglary.
Intruders caused thousands of pounds worth of damage after getting into Bewiched Coffee on The Square through the roof.
Cash was stolen during the raid which happened late last Sunday or during the early hours of Monday morning.

The intruders got in via the roof of the store
Matt Fountain, MD of Bewiched Coffee told HFM it is the second time the store has been targeted by burglars since it opened in February and less cash is now being kept on the premises.
The chain has suffered 16 break-ins at its stores across the midlands this year and Matt added: “This has caused immeasurable stress and upset for our team – from top to bottom.
“We are now upgrading our security measures across all of our stores and in light of these targeted break-ins, we’re cash-light to improve safety and would prefer card transactions, where possible.
“It is always preferable that our customers pay by card, but we understand that some customers will always prefer to pay in cash.
“Even better download our app of which over 40,000 people now already have & pay nothing as your points tot up!”
Leicestershire Police are investigating the burglary.
Anyone with information is asked to call 101, quoting incident number 105 of 16/12/24.
