Cable Fault Caused Power Cut

Over 200 properties in Market Harborough were left without electricity for up to seven hours on Saturday.

National Grid was alerted to the outage on part of the Southern Estate at around 6.30am when the power went off and smoke was seen coming from a pavement.

It affected the Stuart Road and Western Avenue areas.

The outage affected over 200 properties

A National Grid Electricity Distribution spokesperson told HFM: “On the morning of Saturday 30 November, a fault on our underground network caused a power cut affecting properties on and around Stuart Road in Market Harborough.

“All properties were restored by approximately 1.45pm.

“We’d like to thank our customers for their patience and understanding as our engineers worked to find and fix the fault on the weekend.”
