MHBS Brings Banking Back To High Street

Market Harborough Building Society has launched a new service to help people whose banks have closed in the town.

It allows customers of any bank to deposit and withdraw cash and coins at a dedicated kiosk inside the branch on The Square.

MHBS has teamed up with the One Banx organisation to introduce the free service, which is the first of its kind in the region.

Chief Executive Iain Kirkpatrick told HFM it is something needed in the town centre:

The service was officially launched by Cllr Peter Elliot, Chairman of Harborough District Council, at an event today.

He told HFM it will be welcomed by many people:

The introduction of One Banx comes ahead of a planned Banking Hub in Market Harborough, which would also be available to customers of different banks.
