Warning As Scammers Target Rail Passengers

Harborough’s rail users are being warned scammers are trying to target them through bogus social media accounts.
East Midlands Railway say 14 fake accounts – purporting to be the company offering help to passengers – have been set-up on X (formerly Twitter) in the past three months, often with the aim of defrauding people.

The firm is urging people to only interact with its official account (@EastMidRailway), which was opened by its predecessor East Midlands Trains in October 2008.
