Harborough Housing Estate To Get Bus Service

Market Harborough’s Wellington Place housing estate is set to get its first bus service from this autumn.

Plans are afoot for Arriva X3 buses to serve the area off Leicester Road, so residents can travel into the town centre or towards Leicester.

Cash from developers will help fund the additional part of the route, which will initially serve part of the estate prior to buses being able to use a link road next year.

It will provide residents with an hourly service on weekdays and buses at the weekend.

Cllr Jo Asher represents the area on Harborough District Council and has welcomed the news:

An Arriva spokesperson told HFM: “We are working with the housing developers to incorporate Wellington Place into our X3 service once the spine road is fully available to buses and hope to introduce the first journeys later in the year.”
