HFM’s General Election Interviews

MP Neil O’Brien has spoken to HFM after being re-elected.
The Conservative will represent the Harborough, Oadby and Wigston constituency for a third-term, having first been elected in 2017.
His victory was close as he beat the Labour party candidate by just over 2,300 votes.
The result has seen Mr O’Brien’s previous majority of over 17,000 drastically reduce and his party suffered their worst-ever general election result, which saw a landslide Labour victory.
He spoke to HFM after the result was announced:

Labour candidate Hajira Piranie received 16,236 votes.
She told HFM she is proud of her campaign, despite not being elected:

Reform UK came in third place with 6,332 votes.

The Liberal Democrat candidate Phil Knowles polled 4,732 votes.

The Green Party received 4,269 votes, more than double the number in the last election.
