Delight As Dog Lost In Cornwall Found Safe & Well

A Market Harborough pensioner is ‘over the moon’ after her beloved pet dog was found safe and well nearly three weeks after going missing in Cornwall.

A massive search effort was mounted after Ozzie ran off when Ingrid Cooke arrived for a holiday on the Lizard peninsula on May 10th.

The five-year-old terrier-cross was caught early this morning after entering a trap baited with food, which had been placed in a remote area where he had been sighted in recent days.

The Cornish community rallied round to look for Ozzie, in a search coordinated by Maxine Young from DogLost Cornwall, which attracted support from hundreds of people.

Ingrid, who has expressed her thanks to all those who helped, is due to travel to Cornwall tomorrow to be reunited with her pet, after he was checked over by a vet.

She told HFM how it feels to know he is safe after remote cameras picked Ozzie up entering the trap:

Over £800 was raised to support DogLost Cornwall’s work during the search for Ozzie.
