Driver Of Stolen Car Crashes In Fleckney

A man was arrested after the driver of a stolen car crashed in Fleckney and the occupants fled on foot.
Police were called to Elizabeth Road yesterday afternoon and a search of the area was carried out by officers, assisted by a helicopter crew from the National Police Air Service.

A spokesperson for Leicestershire Police told HFM: “Police were called to a report of a single-vehicle collision in Elizabeth Road shortly after 2pm.
“The car – a Ford Fiesta – had been reported stolen.
“Officers attended but the occupants had left the scene.
“Following further enquiries a 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle.
“He has since been released on bail while enquiries continue.”
