Written by HFM News on 17th May 2024
Major work is getting underway to transform facilities at Harborough Leisure Centre.
A raft of improvements will be made over the next six months, including refurbishing the changing village and extending the gym.
The ageing dome, which hosts tennis and netball sessions, will also be replaced with a new modern structure.

The swimming pool will be closed for two months from early June while the work in that area takes place and a temporary gym will be set-up in the bowls hall during the upgrade.
Matt Hopkin is contract manager for centre operator Everyone Active and spoke to HFM about the temporary closure and what the improvements will mean:

The bowls hall at the Leisure Centre will be turned into a soft play facility for six months of the year, with a new ‘Air X’ inflatable, which includes games, music and LED lighting.
The main group exercise studio will also get a new look and there will also be improvements to outdoor courts, the reception and café.
The improvements are part of investment into Harborough’s leisure centres by Harborough District Council and Everyone Active worth nearly £6m.
Cllr Phil Knowles. Leader of Harborough District Council, told HFM it is vital the facility is upgraded:
