Harborough Youngster Runs A Mile A Day For Children’s Air Ambulance

A Market Harborough youngster has raised over £1,500 for the Children’s Air Ambulance after running a mile every day during April.

Seven-year-old Alice Partridge embarked on the challenge after hearing about the charity’s lifesaving work during an assembly at Meadowdale Primary School.

She went out in all weathers to complete the challenge and has smashed her initial fundraising target of £300.

Alice, who is also now part of #TheCrew – a membership scheme for children to learn about the service and share ideas for fundraising, inspired some of her friends to run too and was joined on some of her runs by small groups of children taking part to support her.

Her friends and family also waited for her at the final finish line, with a huge banner created by her friend Francesca, signed by all of her friends.

The Children’s Air Ambulance receive no government funding, so donations are essential.

They transport critically ill babies and children to the hospital they require for specialist treatment, travelling four times faster than a standard ambulance, with each journey costs £3,600.
