Villagers Spot Stolen Cars After WhatsApp Alert

Leicestershire Police recovered two high-value cars within hours of them being stolen thanks to eagle-eyed residents in Shearsby.
They spotted the Range Rover vehicles parked up in the village on Tuesday morning, after being alerted to the thefts via a community WhatsApp group.

The cars had been taken from a business unit near Bruntingthorpe the evening before and an appeal message was put out for sightings of them.
The thieves also removed a Ford Ranger from the unit and used it to smash through fencing to allow the cars to be driven away, before abandoning the pick-up nearby.
Police have thanked the community for their help in finding the cars, which have been forensically examined as part of the investigation into the thefts.
No arrests have yet been made.
