Road To Remain Shut After Bridge Damage

The route linking Fleckney with Great Glen is likely to stay closed for another month after a bridge was badly damaged.

Station Road has been shut since the week before Christmas after the structure near Wistow was stuck by a van driver.

Repair work has not yet started, but it is hoped it will be completed by March.

A spokesperson for Leicestershire County Council said “We’re still in the process of confirming a start date for the work and working hard to secure the materials required to undertake the repair.

“Once all the elements required are secured, we hope to finish the work by the end of February.”
