Harborough Tip Closure Consultation Begins

Starting today (1st November) you can have your say on plans to close Market Harborough tip.

Leicestershire County Council has just launched a 12-week public consultation into the proposal – and is encouraging residents to take part via an online survey.

The recycling and household waste site on Riverside could shut this time next year if the cost-saving plan goes ahead, meaning people in the town would have to travel to the tip in Kibworth to dump rubbish.

There has already been an angry reaction to the plan from Market Harborough residents and concerns raised by District Councillors and Harborough MP Neil O’Brien.

All local residents and businesses worried about the proposed closure are being urged to have their say between now and 24th January 2024 at www.leicestershire.gov.uk/waste-site-changes.
