Harborough Horse Owner Heartbroken After Foals Die In Hit-And-Run

A heartbroken horse owner from Market Harborough is appealing for information after two of his animals died following a hit and run.

James Mason was travelling on the M25 near Enfield in north London on Saturday morning when a car clipped the back of the horse box he was towing.

The impact caused it to overturn and one of the five-month-old foals inside died instantly, while another was seriously injured and had to be put down.

The driver of the car failed to stop at the scene and has not come forward, despite police appeals.

James, who was transporting the horses to a new home, told HFM he just wants justice for the animals:

The car was captured on CCTV driving away from the scene and the Met Police believe it was a dark-coloured VW Touran.

The force says officers from the Roads and Transport Policing Command are investigating and they would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or captured it on dash cam.
