Martin Prepares For Unique Charity Cycling Challenge

A Desborough man is preparing to embark on a unique charity cycling challenge which is guaranteed to turn a few heads.
Martin Palmer is to ride over 100 miles from Slawston to Mablethorpe in Lincolnshire on a double-height bike, with retro Chopper handlebars.

He is raising money for Parkinson’s UK, in memory of his Grandad Edward Palmer (Ted) and family friends Julie Livesley and Margaret Burnham, who all suffered with the disease.
Martin, who is setting of a midnight today, thinks the journey will take about ten hours and has already raised over £1,000.
He is thanking everyone who has supported him with sponsorship and George Halls Cycle Centre in Market Harborough, who serviced his bike for free.
Martin told HFM it will be a lot different than travelling on a normal bike and he’s been training hard for the challenge:
