New Ultra-Rapid EV Charging Points Unveiled At Sainsbury’s In Desborough

There is good news for owners of electric cars as three new ultra-rapid charging points are now available in the car park of Sainsbury’s in Desborough.

Chargers are also set to be upgraded outside McDonald’s off the A6 near Market Harborough, to provide drivers with quicker charging.

‘Ultra-rapid’ is the fastest type of EV charging currently available on the market and Sainsbury’s say it will allow customers to charge vehicles in as little as 30 minutes, providing enough power to travel up to 200 miles, rather than waiting for hours when using slower types of EV charging.

Patrick Dunne, Sainsbury’s Director of Property, Procurement & EV Ventures, said: “We know that demand for speedy, efficient EV charging facilities in the UK continues to grow and that’s why we’ve brought this great new service to the people of Desborough.

“We hope customers enjoy the speed and convenience it offers and we look forward to hearing their feedback.”

InstaVolt has applied for planning permission to install two rapid charging stations outside McDonald’s.
