Investigation Into Former Furniture Store ‘On-Going’
Written by HFM News on 9th June 2023
Nearly a year after a Market Harborough furniture store closed, an investigation by Trading Standards is continuing.
Furniture Loft collapsed with debts of over 2.7m and an investigation was launched after complaints were made by customers who did not receive ordered they had paid for.
Officers from the county council-run Trading Standards service later seized a number of items from the business’s premises on the Riverside Industrial Estate as part of the probe.
A spokesperson for the council told HFM enquiries are ‘on-going’.
Many customers who paid for goods by credit or debit card were able to claim refunds via their banks, although those who paid in cash were left out of pocket.
