Assets Of Market Harborough Distillery To Be Auctioned

The contents of a distillery in Market Harborough which closed with the loss of over 50 jobs is to be sold at auction.
Administrators have ordered the sale of machinery and other assets following the collapse of Union Distillers, which was based on Welland Business Park.

The business, which produced spirits under the ‘two birds’ brand, went into administration in April after experiencing a decline in sales, when a number of key contracts ended.
It was closed by administrators last month, with the loss of 58 jobs, after a search for a buyer for the firm was unsuccessful.
Items to be auctioned include four bottling lines, five gin stills, as well as packaging and laboratory equipment.
