The ‘knife sweeps’ took place at Symington’s Recreation Ground and around the skatepark in Little Bowden last night, to search for discarded blades, although none were found.
It was part of Leicestershire’s Police’s support of Operation Sceptre, a week-long initiative nationwide aimed at tackling knife crime.
Officers and Cadets also spoke to members of the public to raise awareness of the action.
