Welland Park Academy Basektball Team Crowned County Champions

Basketball players at Welland Park Academy in Market Harborough are celebrating being crowned county champions.
The Year 11 boys’ team picked up the title after winning the final of the competition held at the Morningside Arena – the home of the Leicester Riders.
PE Teacher Courtney Gray says it’s a great achievement:

Welland Park’s Year 10 boys’ team also reached the final, but just lost out on winning following a close final game.
Principal, Julie McBrearty, said: “The PE team and students deserve every praise for their success.
“Ms Gray has done a fabulous job to inspire these boys to aim high to good effect. This builds upon the success of last year when Welland Park were the County Champions for Rugby with Mr Button. The students are learning that hard work pays off!’
