Hope Springfield St Will Re-Open By End Of Today

It is hoped Springfield Street in Market Harborough will re-open to traffic by the end of today.
The stretch between Northampton Road and the entrance to the Sainsbury’s car park has been shut since yesterday following a gas leak.

The closure has led to long queues for drivers on diversion routes, with the town’s main through-route closed.
Cadent Gas has told HFM repairs to a pipe were completed overnight and the road surface is due to be reinstated today, which will then enable the road to be re-opened.
A spokesperson added: “Naturally, we understand that this is frustrating and inconvenient to road users and residents, but we thank them for their patience as our engineers carry out the work as safely and as quickly as possible.”
