Teenage Pedestrian Seriously Injured In Broughton Astley

A teenage girl has been seriously injured after being struck by a car in Broughton Astley.
The collision involving the pedestrian and a blue Vauxhall Corsa happened just after 3pm yesterday, on the B581 Broughton Way near the junction with Station Road.
Police say the girl remains in hospital and her family are being supported by officers.

Enquiries to establish the circumstances of the collision are continuing and an appeal for witnesses has been launched.
Detective Constable Charlotte Wright, from the force’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “Full support is being provided to those involved in the incident as we continue our enquiries to establish what has happened. We are carrying out a full investigation at the scene of the collision including speaking with a number of witnesses.
“If you witnessed the collision or saw the vehicle or pedestrian beforehand, and have not yet spoken to police, then please do make contact with us.
“If you have any dashcam footage from the area at the time, please also get in touch with us.”
