A fundraising and awareness campaign has been launched by the parents of a Market Harborough boy who has been diagnosed with a rare life-limiting disease.
Four-year-old Finn Nelson has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD), a rare genetic condition which causes all the muscles in the body to gradually weaken, including the heart and lungs.

Around 100 boys in the UK are diagnosed with the condition every year, but there is currently no cure or real treatment, meaning it is likely Finn will rely on a wheelchair from his early teens.
Finn’s parents, Katie and Matthew, want to make more people aware of the devastating disease and raise money for charity Duchenne UK, which is researching treatments and ultimately a cure.
Katie spoke to HFM’s Nick Shaw:

The ‘Fight For Finn’ campaign is being supported by Castle Lane Day Nursery in Market Harborough, which Finn attends and tomorrow a fundraising ‘Duvet Day’ is taking place, in support of the charity, with further fundraisers planned.
